Mr. Prabhu's exit from Rlys is not due to poor-performance but bad luck. More than 100 accidents happen every year and the number of accidents have declined during his regime as compared to past regimes. Happening of a few accidents (mostly due to human error) in quick succession had proved detrimental.
Freight earning targets (2016-17) were pegged too high, leading to less than budgeted revenue generation (about 90% of budgeted) which PM took seriously. The almost zero growth in bulk freight offering in last 2-3 years mainly due to completion of the thermal power projects should have been taken into account.
