We all have a craving for SLB be it 3AC or 2Ac or SL. Before Feb 2011 I used to like LB since higher chances of getting a window seat as there are 7 SLBs kept for RAC , but while booking a ticket in 12826 Jh SK from NDLS to RNC for 26/2/2011, for a change I asked the ECRC at Dakaniya Talav ( small station in KOTA) for a SL. I was provided S1/63. That was my first SLB ride. From then my first preference is SLB. I don't care if it is near the gate or any other SL, it just needs to be a SLB. I can plan my journeys 4 months in advance and I probably try to book the ticket at sharp 8 am on 120 days ARP, and 99% of times I am allotted a SLB. For me I want a SLB because...
more... I am fat (currently losing weight) so problematic in climbing to UB/SU. I hardly sleep during train journeys, so SLB is a boon as in LB one cannot be seated when MB is laid. In my recent journey from Hatia to Pune of 31 hrs I slept for almost 5-6 hrs in total so I choose SLB. And also there are less people who ask a SLB owner for an exchange. If you hav a LB there are high chances that you may be asked for exchange of berth by families or ladies. For some the partition gap in SLB.is problematic while sleeping but since I don't sleep much in trains, then I am OK with that. Except berth no. 39, have travelled on all SLBs.
