No, I think this is the best way; otherwise a dishonest poll author may update the poll to his/ her desired result. For example, I have created a poll 'Should ..... train have a halt at .... station?' with two options- 'Yes' and 'No'; now say majority votes are at 'No' and my desire was votes at 'Yes'. Now if I have the ability to change the options and I am not honest enough, then I may change Yes to No and No to Yes and thus the entire poll result gets changed. Makes sense?
