Be it this train, or the random trains connecting major cities to Ekta Nagar, or the fact that the next Vande Bharat train is also planned to connect some or the other BJP stronghold, sometimes I wonder how politicised our IR has become.

Now we have newer Rajdhanis overtaking older Rajdhanis (22221 vs 12433), we have AC Expresses overtaking Durontos (Darshan vs 12213), and god knows what else.
So it's just parties fighting over whose legacy lasts in the railways, with utter disregard for public opinion.
I'll definitely say this though: Standardisation has led to a drastic improvement in punctuality, quality of service, cleanliness, and value for money. The government has done a fabulous job in this regard, if only they don't kill off the existing categories, it would be even better.
