also provide much-needed rail connectivity to Hiriyur and Shira taluks. Land acquisition is complete in Davangere, and the tender for the Davangere to Bharamasagar section has been initiated. The Davangere portion is expected to be finished by December 2023. However, land acquisition challenges in Chitradurga and Tumkur may delay the overall project completion to 2026-27. Once operational, the new line will reduce travel time between Davangere and Bangalore from the current 3.25 hours to 2 hours and 45 minutes. The central government is funding the project, while the state government is responsible for land acquisition. The South Western Railway Mysore Zone has pledged to accelerate the project as land becomes available.

Davangere mein land acquisition complete ho chuka hai aur Davangere se Bharamasagar section ke liye tender bhi start ho chuka hai. Davangere ka part December 2023 tak complete ho jaayega. Par, Chitradurga aur Tumkur mein land acquisition mein challenges aane ki wajah se poora project 2026-27 tak complete ho sakta hai. Jab yeh new line start ho jaayegi, to Davangere aur Bangalore ke beech ka journey time 3.25 hours se kam ho kar 2 hours aur 45 minutes ho jaayega. Central government is project ko fund kar raha hai aur state government land acquisition ka jimma le raha hai. South Western Railway Mysore Zone ne bataya hai ki jaise hi land available hoga, woh project ko jaldi complete karne ki koshish karenge.
