These changes are being made to address complaints about unauthorized passengers traveling in sleeper and AC coaches. The railway had increased the number of AC coaches in 2022 and 2023, reducing the number of general and sleeper coaches. This led to a surge in passengers using general tickets to travel in AC and sleeper classes, resulting in complaints. The Ganga Damodar Express will run with six sleeper coaches instead of eight starting on August 15th from Dhanbad and August 16th from Patna. The number of general coaches will increase from three to five. The Patna-Dumka Express, which shares the same train set as the Ganga Damodar Express, will also have its composition adjusted. The Ganga Satluj Express will run with four general and six sleeper coaches starting on August 11th from Dhanbad. The new composition will be implemented on the return trip from Firozpur on August 13th.

Ganga Damodar Express 15 August se Dhanbad se aur 16 August se Patna se chalu hogi, ismein eight sleeper bogies ki jagah six sleeper bogies honge. General bogies ki number three se badhkar five ho jaayengi. Patna-Dumka Express, jo Ganga Damodar Express ki same train set se chalu hoti hai, uska arrangement bhi badal jaayega.
