Sometimes reading news of IR officials doing checking so 'deeply' seems heartening...
But there is another side of it too
One example of my local newspaper which printed the 'IR note prepared by PRO office of Area Office' as NEWS .. and point which caught attention is very silly.
The note ran :
"AJE...
more... town : some private body representative body visited Area Office officials and asked for pending amenities of passengers that creates problems at AJE station which is damaged since 2001 earthquake. On this the officer in charge quickly responded 'positively' and narrated what has been done so far.
1- signalling has been upgraded.
My view, : is this passenger amenity to say least ?
2- Railway Over Bridge is being constructed.
My view : this bridge is almost 1.5 km away from station and has nothing to do with passengers amenity. In fact this ROB is situated at a NH8A and is initiated by NHAI as part of program to widen the roads / construct new roads and bridges.
3- there are other miscellaneous points which are just of no worth to be considered as 'passengers' amenity like two points above.
But irony is that 'NEWS papers are after news, and first after ads. So IR dictates them their terms. and gives ready made NEWS
This is how 'curiosity mill' goes on churning out pages after pagers
