This is an example of blatant misuse of national resources. A large chunk of berths are "systematically" being kept vacant and not sold to the fare paying passengers. People are unable to book berths and in actual journey a large number of seats go vacant.
A question comes in mind that - For whom IR is operating trains ?
(a) for fare paying public or
(b)...
more... for Without Ticket travellers or
(c) for VIPs/ free pass holders or
(d) for Ghosts

BCT-ADI non stop Duronto has 5AC3 coaches with 324 berths, 3 ACII coaches with 144 berths & 1ACI coach with 18 berths whereas only 209, 85 and 10 berths are sold to general public. Large number of seats for other quotas which go unsold need to be reduced, so that more paxs could be served and IR could generate more revenue and reduce the so called passenger subsidy.
