Mr. Prabhu's exit from Rlys is not due to poor-performance but bad luck. More than 100 accidents happen every year and the number of accidents have declined during his regime as compared to past regimes. Happening of a few accidents (mostly due to human error) in quick succession had proved detrimental.
Freight earning targets (2016-17) were pegged too high, leading to less than budgeted revenue generation (about 90% of budgeted) which PM took seriously. The almost zero growth in bulk freight offering in last 2-3 years mainly due to completion of the thermal power projects should have been taken into account. volumes of success & efforts of Mr. Prabhu. New RM shall have to continue the developmental policies & initiatives Mr. Prabhu have initiated in last couple of years.
Ready acceptance of commerce ministry without any grievance, is an example of his positive attitude. We can hope he will do good job there too.
