Modernization efforts have resulted in improved workflow, including rehabilitation work on BOBORN wagons. The workshop's pocket yard, established in 1895, has been improved with the construction of a 13km long Apex road along the railway lines to address the safety concerns of employees during wagon shunting. This project, costing ₹2.3 crores, is being overseen by SSE Afaq Ahmad.
