Delhi Metro: 21 साल की हो गई दिल्ली मेट्रो, जानें DMRC शुरु होने के पीछे की रोचक कहानी

The Delhi Metro celebrated its 21st anniversary on December 24, 2023. The service was inaugurated by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who also took the first journey and bought the first smart card. four trains completing 186 trips, covering 1170 km in a day. Now, with 223 trains, the Delhi Metro covers 96,000 km daily in 3248 trips. The network has expanded to 391 km with 281 stations across multiple corridors. The Delhi Metro is a lifeline for the capital and NCR, transporting around 6 million passengers daily, showcasing a robust and rapidly growing system. The idea of a rapid transit system for Delhi was first proposed in 1969 but didn't materialize. The Urban Arts Commission proposed a multi-modal transport system including rapid transit in 1984. With the rapid growth of Delhi's population and traffic, the DMRC was formed in 1995, with E. Sreedharan as the first managing director, who is now known as the Metro Man of India. The construction began in 1998 and the metro was inaugurated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 24, 2002.

hua tha, jisme 4 trains ne 186 trips kiye, 1170 km ki distance cover karke. Ab 223 trains roz 3248 trips karke 96,000 km ki distance cover karti hain. Delhi Metro ka network 391 km tak spread ho gaya hai, 281 stations ke saath. Delhi Metro, Delhi aur NCR ke logon ki life line hai, roz 60 lakh passengers ko leke jaati hai, aur yeh ek tezi se badhta hua system hai. 1969 mein pehli baar Delhi ke liye rapid transit system ka idea aaya tha, lekin woh kabhi start nahi ho paya. 1984 mein Urban Arts Commission ne rapid transit system ke saath multi-modal transport system ka proposal diya tha. Delhi ki population aur traffic mein tezi se badhat ke wajah se, DMRC ka formation 1995 mein hua tha, E. Sreedharan pehle MD the, jinko ab Bharat ka Metro Man kehte hain. Construction 1998 mein shuru hua aur Atal Bihari Vajpayee ne 24 December 2002 ko metro ko launch kiya.
