The installation of fire detection and alarm systems is happening across major stations in the country. At Tatanagar station, railway personnel use fire extinguishers to control fires in emergency situations. Experts explain that fire detection systems, fire and smoke detection sensors, suppression, and alarms, along with fire extinguishers, two cylinders, and pipes, ensure the safety of passengers by warning them about fire and extinguishing it. One cylinder contains water, while the other contains nitrogen. Other zones are also working on installing fire smoke detection and alarm and automatic fire suppression systems in AC LHB coaches, power cars, and pantry cars. In Tatanagar, mock drills using fire extinguishers are being conducted to train staff in firefighting procedures. The fire extinguishers in the station and all departments are part of the fire prevention plan.
