This has led to the stranding of the Vande Bharat Express and the Kamrup Express at Betgara railway station in Jalpaiguri district. Local train services have also been affected, and some trains passing through the area have been diverted. Security forces, including West Bengal Police, Government Railway Police (GRP), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, have been deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. The protest is scheduled to continue until 6 PM. According to AKSU leader Suman Roy, their protest aims to demand a separate Kamatapur state and recognition of the Kamatpuri language. They claim to have submitted numerous appeals to the central and state governments, which they say have been ignored. They have threatened further and larger protests if their demands are not met.

Local train services bhi affected hui hain, aur kuchh trains area se guzarne wali, divert ki gayi hain. Protest sham 6 baje tak chalne wala hai. AKSU leader Suman Roy ke mutabik, unka protest ek alag Kamatapur state aur Kamatpuri language ko recognition dena ka maang karne ke liye hai. Unhone kaha ki, unhone pehle bhi centre aur state governments ko kai abhyavedan diye hain, lekin unki dalilon ko baar baar nazarandaz kiya gaya, aur isliye unhe yeh protest karna pad raha hai. Roy ne yeh bhi kaha ki agar unki demand puri nahin hui toh woh aane wale dinon mein aur bada protest karenge.
