by all stakeholders. Punjab has also agreed to reconsider offering land for a depot in Paroul, New Chandigarh. The Urban Mass Transit Authority (UMTA), formed to establish a metro network in Tricity, held a meeting where these suggestions were discussed and agreed upon. RITES had earlier submitted a Traffic and System Selection Report in December 2022. The report included analysis of study progress, study area, population, primary survey, travel demand modeling, input and structure, proposed MRTS phase-1 network, and ridership estimates. The meeting also discussed the proposed alignment modification near the railway station for Corridor-1 and connecting Panchkula to Zirakpur via Corridor-2. The stakeholders have agreed to the proposed modifications, with formal approval to be given in the next UMTA meeting. The Urban Planning Department will be presenting relevant laws and regulations related to heritage aspects to prevent construction of high-rise structures in Chandigarh, as requested by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Tricity mein metro network establish karne ke liye banaye gaye UMTA ki meeting mein in suggestions par charcha ki gayi aur sabhi stakeholders ne un par sahmati di. RITES ne pehle December 2022 mein Traffic and System Selection Report submit ki thi. Is report mein study progress, study area, population, primary survey, travel demand modeling, input and structure, proposed MRTS phase-1 network, aur ridership estimates jaise aspects ko include kiya gaya tha. Meeting mein Corridor-1 ke liye railway station ke paas proposed alignment modification aur Corridor-2 se Panchkula ko Zirakpur se jodne ke proposal par bhi charcha ki gayi. Stakeholders ne proposed modifications par sahmat jata di, jinki formal approval agle UMTA meeting mein di jayegi. Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry ki ichchha ke anusar, Urban Planning Department Chandigarh mein high-rise structures ke construction ko rokne ke liye heritage aspects se judi laws aur regulations present karega.
