The Railway Ministry has also approved extending the Vande Bharat train from Kathgodam to Kanpur, although a specific timeline is not yet available. The government has announced plans to increase the number of Vande Bharat trains to 82, with ongoing efforts to increase the speed of trains on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes to 160 kilometers per hour.
