The train, operating as number 14649, was already running two hours behind schedule. The train driver spotted the stray animals on the tracks and honked the horn, but they did not move, resulting in a collision that killed several animals.

ja saka. Jaynagar se chal kar Amritsar jaane wali 14649 Shaheed Express Somvaar ko apne nirdharit samay se do ghante deri se chal rahi thi. Train subah paanch baje Bilandpur gaon ke paas pahuchi, to chalak ne dekha ki kai chutta pashu track par ghoom rahe hain. Unhone horn bajaya, lekin pashu nahi hate aur engine ki chapet mein aa gaye, jisse kai pashu mar gaye.
