The BSRP is currently being executed by a joint venture between the State government and Indian Railways, but faces delays. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier set a 40-month completion target, but the State government has now set a new deadline of end-of-2027. Meanwhile, the Railway Board has approved initial works for a 287-km Circular Railway Network for Bengaluru, connecting towns like Doddaballapur, Devanahalli, Malur, Heelalige, and Solur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ne pehle 40 months mein project complete karne ka target rakha tha, lekin state government ne ab end-of-2027 ki deadline set ki hai.
