Due to ongoing farmer protests near Shambhu border, several trains between Chandigarh and key Punjab stations have been cancelled until May 16th. (14614). Additionally, the Amritsar-Chandigarh Express (12242) and Chandigarh-Firozpur Cantt Sutlej Express (14629) are also cancelled until May 16th. These trains have been cancelled to prioritize long-distance trains with higher occupancy due to the rail blockade on the Ambala-Sahnewal section. The protests began on April 17th when farmers blocked the Delhi-Ambala-Amritsar railway track, demanding the release of fellow protesters arrested during the farmers' stir.

Yeh trains, Ambala-Sahnewal section mein rail blockade ke wajah se, zyada occupancy wali lambi route ki trains ko priority dene ke liye cancel ki gayi hain. 17 April ko Kisan Mazdoor Morcha aur Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) ke kisanon ne Delhi-Ambala-Amritsar railway track ko Shambhu border ke paas block kar diya tha, unke protest mein February aur March mein gire hue fellow protesters ko riha karne ki maang kar rahe the.
