Better rail routes and infra: Chennai commuters list demands to Southern Rly

They also request the resumption of Train no. 42001 (departing from Chennai Central at 12.15 am) and Train no. 42002 (departing from Gummidipoondi at 2.45 am), which were stopped during the pandemic. Additional demands include having trains from Nellore to Chennai stop at Minjur, Ennore, Wimco Nagar, and Korukkupet, and requiring all express trains from northern states to Chennai to stop at Wimco Nagar for one minute. To address overcrowding, they propose converting nine-coach trains to twelve coaches with additional women's reserved coaches. They also request improved station facilities, including toilets in good condition, CCTV cameras, lifts or escalators, and power supply. They are specifically requesting the prioritization of Minjur, Ponneri, and Gummidipoondi stations for these upgrades. Lastly, they are asking for additional train services from Gummidipoondi to Chennai Central and for express trains to stop at Gummidipoondi and Tiruvallur.
