Parasuram Express from Mangaluru to be extended to Kanyakumari
The Indian Railway has announced that the Parasuram Express (16649), currently running between Mangaluru and Nagercoil, will be extended to Kanyakumari. The changes are expected to be implemented in the new railway timetable in July. While the train currently has 21 coaches, Nagercoil station has limitations handling trains with more coaches....

Indian Railway ne Parasuram Express (16649) ko Mangaluru se Nagercoil tak chalaane ka faisla kiya hai, aur ab yeh Kanyakumari tak jaayega. Yeh changes July mein aane wala new railway timetable mein laaye jaayenge. Abhi train mein 21 coaches hain, aur Nagercoil station mein 21 se zyada coaches wali trains handle...

it depends on timing and infra. if MEMU with toilets are given. 5 hrs is manageable so Ratnagiri to karwar, Ranagiri to mumbai outer may be panvel it can be done. I am not against any long ICE for ratnagiri though.

There was a proposal of constructing a terminal at Sawantwadi Road when Suresh Prabhu was the RM. Any idea what happended to that proposal. They just built an additional platform and 2 extra lines. No progress beyond that.
