The project will also see the construction of a new main station building spanning 17900 square meters, a second entrance gate covering 7400 square meters, a roof plaza covering 10800 square meters, and ticket counters spanning 300 square meters. The waiting area will be spread over 6300 square meters and can accommodate 3500 passengers simultaneously. The station is expected to handle 1,80,000 passengers daily. The redevelopment project aims to improve passenger experience, particularly for women, senior citizens, and children, with the addition of travelators similar to those found at airports.
