saw the passage of the Barisal Express, a train that ran between Sealdah (Kolkata) and Khulna. After the partition of India in 1947, the station was renamed Petrapol on the Indian side and Benapole on the Bangladesh side. After the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, train services between the two countries were suspended. However, a trade agreement between India and Bangladesh in 2000 led to the resumption of freight train services in 2001. Today, Bongaon station is the last station on the Indian side of the border, located just 4 kilometers from the Bangladesh border. Although the station doesn't see any local trains, it serves as a reminder of the partition and its history, attracting visitors who are interested in exploring the past.

India ke partition ke baad 1947 mein, station ka naam Petrapol (India) aur Benapole (Bangladesh) rakha gaya. 1965 ke Indo-Pakistani War ke baad, dono countries ke beech train services band ho gayi thi. Lekin, 2000 mein India aur Bangladesh ke beech ek trade agreement hone ke baad, 2001 mein freight train services fir se start hui. Aaj, Bongaon station border ke India side ka last station hai, jo ki Bangladesh border se 4 kilometer door hai. Yaha local trains nahi aati, lekin ye station partition ke history aur memories ko yaad dilaata hai, aur kai log is station ko dekhne aate hain.
