The station's platforms will be resurfaced with marble and tiles, and the entry and exit paths will be improved for accessibility. Construction work has already begun, and the upgrade is expected to create new employment opportunities, boost business, and enhance tourism in the region.

Northeast aur Assam mein rail facilities ko aur behtar banane ke liye, interim budget 2024-25 mein Rs. 10,369 crore railway infrastructure projects ke liye allocate kiya gaya hai. Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) ke under, Northeast ke 60 stations ko world-class amenities aur facilities ke saath redevelop kiya ja raha hai.
