The 299-kilometer Udaipur-Himmatnagar-Asarva rail line was commissioned in phases, with the Himmatnagar-Asarva section completed in 2019 and the Udaipur-Himmatnagar section in 2022. The project cost 3976.21 crores. Currently, 5 pairs of trains cater to passenger needs on this route. Electrification work on the Himmatnagar-Asarva section is complete, and 80% is done on the Udaipur-Himmatnagar section. Electrification will bring advantages like faster travel times due to electric engines, reduced pollution, and the possibility of introducing the Vande Bharat train between Udaipur and Ahmedabad. This train is in demand as it would provide connectivity to the south and connect with other trains in Ahmedabad. There is also a proposal for a new rail link between Udaipur and Mumbai via Tintoi, Modasa, and Vadodara, which is currently under consideration by the government.

Himmatnagar-Asarva section pe electrification ka kaam complete ho chuka hai aur Udaipur-Himmatnagar section pe 80% kaam complete hai. Electrification se fayde honge jaise ki electric engine wali trains se fast travel time, pollution kam hoga, aur Udaipur aur Ahmedabad ke beech Vande Bharat train chalaane ki possibility. Is train ki demand hai kyunki yeh south ki connectivity dega aur Ahmedabad se aage ki trains se connect karega.
