The route of the 31051 Up Bajbaj-Naihati Local has been changed to go via Park Circus to Sealdah (South) instead of Naihati, and the 31052 Down Naihati-Bajbaj Local will go to Sealdah (North) instead of Bajbaj. Routes of some Sealdah-Bongaon, Bongaon-Sealdah, Hasnabad-Sealdah, and Sealdah-Hasnabad locals have been shortened. The 33512 Down Hasnabad-Sealdah Local will depart Hasnabad an hour late at 4:05 pm. Railway officials claim that passenger traffic is lighter on Sundays, making this a suitable time for maintenance. They say that although this might inconvenience passengers, the work is necessary for modernization.
