The contract was initially supposed to be awarded to the lowest bidder, Alstom, but the cancellation allows the railways to further negotiate and invite multiple players for the next tender. Contract pehle Alstom, lowest bidder ko dena tha, lekin cancellation se railways ko negotiation karne aur next tender ke liye multiple players ko invite karne ka mauka mil gaya hai. Iska aim hai ki train ke liye better price aur timely production ho sake. Other bidders jo pehle technical norms meet nahin kar paaye the, unse next round mein participation ki umeed hai. Aluminium body Vande Bharat trains stainless steel versions se light aur zyada energy-efficient hain. Vande Bharat trains ka pehla sleeper variant first quarter 2025 tak launch hone wala hai. 302 Vande Bharat train sets already pipeline mein hain, jinmein 102 chair cars aur 200 sleeper trains shamil hain.
