incident stemmed from a suggestion made by the Chief Matron, Ritu Masih, to replace the stairs leading to the toilet with a ramp, a suggestion which the CMS Dr. S.P. Sharma allegedly reacted to aggressively. After the union was informed of the incident, they organized the protest during lunchtime. The MD assured the union leaders of addressing the issue and later facilitated a meeting between the CMS and the Chief Matron, where the CMS apologized for his behavior. The protest was attended by several union leaders including D.S. Yadav, Saeed Ahmed, S.P. Yadav, Manoj Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Arvind Pandey, and B.P. Singh.
