Incharge Ajay Prakash, RPF personnel noticed the suspicious behavior of the young man while reviewing CCTV footage and alerted the patrolling officers. After being chased and apprehended, Pandey confessed to stealing the phones and cash from a train passenger. He admitted to boarding trains from Patna and stealing valuables from passengers when the opportunity arose. A case has been registered against him at the GRP Gaya police station under section 317 (05) of the Indian Penal Code. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be ₹36,800.
