costing 1120.66 crore rupees, will improve train operations between Muzaffarpur and Gorakhpur, benefitting people in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and neighboring Nepal. The project involves expanding 9 crossing stations, 3 halts, 10 major and 43 minor bridges, and widening a critical bridge. The doubling is planned in 5 phases, with the Gorakhpur Cantt-Kaptanganj section currently undergoing earthfilling work. The project also includes station upgrades and expansions at Kanthi, Motipur, Chakia, and Sugauli, facilitating faster freight transportation and improved passenger connectivity across the region.
