Bahadur Shastri and Congress leader Kamlapati Tripathi visited the ashram. The strategy to burn down the Manani railway station was also formulated at the Ghatheda Gandhi Ashram. The ashram also functioned as a training center for staff who were later deployed to Gandhi Ashrams across India. The village of Ghatheda, with a population of around 6,000, primarily consisting of Gurjars, is known for its historical significance due to the Gandhi Ashram and its contribution to the freedom struggle. The village has also produced the highest number of freedom fighters in the district - 10 in total.

Manani railway station ko jalane ki strategy bhi Ghatheda ke Gandhi Ashram mein banayi gayi thi, aur baad mein use implement kiya gaya. Ashram mein staff ke liye training center bhi tha, aur yahaan se training lene ke baad staff ko desh bhar ke Gandhi Ashram mein bheja jata tha. Ek samay aisa bhi tha jab Ghatheda ka naam pure desh mein famous tha. Ghatheda mein Gandhi Ashram ki building aaj bhi history ki witness hai. Ghatheda ki aabadi 6,000 ke aas-pass hai, aur ye village Gurjar logon ka bahutat hai. Is village ne district mein sabse zyada azadi ke sainik diye hain - total 10.
