The suspension has caused concern amongst tourism operators, especially as the Durga Puja season, a time of peak tourist activity, is approaching. Though the NJP-Darjeeling toy train service remains suspended, the Darjeeling-Ghum Joyride and the Kurseong-Tindharia-Darjeeling services are operational.
