The Kanpur Police are investigating the matter and have detained over two dozen individuals with criminal backgrounds. They are also collecting evidence from the scene, which includes a petrol bottle and matchboxes. The investigation is being conducted by a joint team comprising the NIA, IB, RPF, GRP, state intelligence, and Kanpur police. They have collected some evidence and are continuing the investigation.
