access platform 1 starting on Saturday. The first train to utilize platform 1 was the 12511 train from Gorakhpur to Thiruvananthapuram. This intervention was crucial as platform 1 is essential for passengers with physical challenges who faced difficulties due to the lack of accessible platforms. Venugopal also requested the Railway Minister to prioritize improvements to infrastructure at the station, including lifts, ramps, escalators, and other essential facilities. He pointed out the neglect of Cherthala's essential facilities despite its status as a major stop in the district.

Railway Operations Manager ne Saturday se platform 1 pe train jaane ka order diya. Sabse pehle, 12511 train Gorakhpur se Thiruvananthapuram ja rahi thi, woh platform 1 se pass hui. Platform 1 na hone se physical challenge waale passengers ko bahut dikkat ho raha tha, toh MP ka yeh intervention bahut jaroori tha. Venugopal ne Railway Minister se station pe infrastructure improve karne ke liye bhi kaha, jaise ki lifts, ramps, escalators aur aur bhi facilities. Unhone yeh bhi bataya ki Cherthala district ka ek major stop hone ke baad bhi, station pe basic facilities bahut bad condition me hai.
