Experts believe that if older ICF design coaches were used, there would have been significant casualties. The collision involved the Bagmati Express's locomotive and the brake van of the goods train, which absorbed much of the impact due to its hollow structure, further reducing the impact on the passenger coaches.

ki safety features ki wajah se possible tha, jinmein strong couplers hai jo coaches ko ek dusre par chadhne se rokta hai, bogies aur coach bodies ka mazboot integration hai, aur ek strong stainless-steel shell hai jo crumple nahin hota. Experts ka maanana hai ki agar purane ICF design coaches hote, toh bahut zyada casualties hote. Collision mein Bagmati Express ka locomotive aur goods train ka brake van shamil tha, jisse impact ka zyada hissa absorb hua kyunki woh hollow structure tha, jisse passenger coaches pe impact kam hua.
