to find work, met Shekhar in Badnera's Bhagat Singh Chowk. Shekhar offered them work and invited them to stay at his place, which Lakshman refused. On October 14th, they went to the railway station, where Shekhar asked for money to buy alcohol. Later, they consumed alcohol near the water tank, and Lakshman fell asleep. Upon waking up, he saw his wife and Shekhar in a compromising position. Enraged, Lakshman assaulted his wife with a brick and fled the scene. Bhagwati was found dead the next morning.

Shekhar ne unhe kaam dene ka vaada kiya aur apne ghar rehne ko kaha, jisko Lakshman ne mana kar diya. 14 October ko, ve railway station gaye, jahaan Shekhar ne sharab lene ke liye paise maange. Baad mein, unhone paani ki tank ke paas sharab pi, aur Lakshman so gaya. Uthne par, usne apni patni aur Shekhar ko aapse position mein dekha. Gussey mein, Lakshman ne apni patni par brick se vaar kiya aur bhag gaya. Bhagwati ki laash agle din subah mili.
