Land acquisition is underway, with 70.14 acres acquired in Karnataka and 196.5 acres in Andhra Pradesh. The completion of this project, like others, depends on factors like land acquisition, forest clearance, and environmental permits. In Karnataka, there are 31 railway projects in various stages of planning and construction, with a total length of 3,866 km and a cost of Rs. 47,346 crore. As of March 2023, Rs. 15,881 crore has been spent on these projects. The Indian Railways has requested Karnataka and Maharashtra to provide land and share the cost for the Bidar-Nanded railway line.
