The trio claimed they found the damaged track at 5:30 AM but a video recorded by them on their phones showed the track damaged between 2:56 AM and 4:57 AM, casting doubt on their claim. The police found videos and photos of the damage on their phones, leading them to believe they were responsible. After questioning, they confessed to the act, stating they hoped to gain notoriety and avoid being moved to a daytime shift.

fishplates, hata diye, jisse unhe dikkat hoti aur woh famous ho jate. Unka goal tha ki unhe recognition mile aur raat ki shift mein hi kaam karna padhe, jisse unhe din mein family time mil sake. Teenon ne claim kiya ki unhone 5:30 AM pe kharab track dekha, lekin unke phones mein video aaye jisme 2:56 AM se 4:57 AM ke beech track kharab dikha. Police ne unke phones mein kharab track ki videos aur photos dekhne ke baad unhe shak hua. Questioning ke baad unhone confess kiya ki unhone yeh sab kiya tha, aur unhe ummeed thi ki woh famous honge aur unhe day shift mein shift nahin karna padega.
