Metro chugs into 14th year with high expectations in Karnataka

Bengaluru's Namma Metro celebrated its 14th anniversary, having become a crucial public transportation mode. Despite initial skepticism, it's now the second largest Metro network in India with 73.81km and 66 stations, only after Delhi Metro. complaint. New lines opening soon are expected to boost ridership. This growth has prompted BMRCL to consider fare hikes, with a committee set to submit recommendations. A major challenge is the shortage of coaches, delaying the opening of the completed Yellow Line. Despite its success, the Metro faces issues like suicide attempts. Future plans include Phase 2A & 2B connecting Silk Board to the airport, Phase-3 with two corridors, and Phase-3A along Sarjapur Road awaiting approval. aur 66 stations ke saath. Har din average 7.5 lakh log Metro use karte hai, lekin trains mein space ka kami ek common complaint hai. Aane waale chaar mahino mein kuchh nayi lines open honi hai, jisse ridership badhne ki umeed hai. Is growth ke wajah se BMRCL fares badhane ke baare mein soch raha hai, aur ek committee 90 dino mein apni recommendations submit karega. Ek bada challenge coaches ki kami hai, jiske wajah se complete ho chuka Yellow Line abhi tak open nahi ho paya. Apni success ke saath saath, Metro ko suicide attempts jaise problems ka bhi saamna karna pad raha hai. Future plans mein Phase 2A & 2B hai, jo Silk Board ko airport se connect karega, Phase-3 mein do corridors hai, aur Phase-3A Sarjapur Road ke saath, jiske liye state government ki approval ka intezaar hai. BMRCL ne fare revision ke baare mein public feedback ke liye deadline October 28 tak extend kar diya hai.
