Naresh, a government employee living in Anakapalle, and Achari, a teacher living in Vizianagaram, who commute to the city daily for work, find the lack of local trains a curse for commuters.
“Though there are trains from Anakapalle to Visakhapatnam, they do not match the actual demand. I have to board either 57271 BZA- Rayagada Passenger or 57255 Kakinada - Vizag EMU, which are already packed to capacity with hardly any space to get in,” says Naresh.
Mr. Achari travels from Vizianagaram to Visakhapatnam every day. He boards 78531 Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam DEMU, which is

packed to capacity with hardly any space to stand comfortably leave alone sitting in the train.
Both Naresh and Achari feel that there should be MEMU s (Mainline Electrical Multiple Unit) between Tuni/Anakapalle to Vizianagaram via Visakhapatnam after every 1 hour and a few services can be extended up to Annavaram one side (as it would meet the requirement of pilgrims travelling to Sri Satyanarayana Swamy temple) and Srikakulam on other side (as it would be useful to those going to Arasavalli and Srikurmam temples).
The introduction of the local trains would help in reducing the load on the National Highway and minimising road accidents. This is not all, the middle class and the poor will be saved the hassle of paying three or four times the fare for travel in buses.

Daily many people travel from VSKP, VZM, CPP, CHE, GNPR, PLH, NWP, PSA, SPT, IPM, BAM to BBS/KUR/PURI/CTC to catch long distance trains going towards North India though there are many trains but an ICE starting from VSKP is missing so people have to depend on the weeklies (which is very difficult) in the morning or Train # 17016 Visakha Exp (This starts late and its slow). Similarly people coming from BBS have to depend on Train # 12703 Falaknuma SF exp which is already very crowded. So it would be better if an ICE starts @ 6:00 AM in VSKP.

My first sighting of Egmore - Guwahati Express
-
It was back in May 2000', i was returning back by 6004 Howrah - Madras Mail, which had a scheduled

stop at Chipurupalle for 2 mins. Interestingly, the train stayed longer than two, i.e around 20-25 mins. Maybe an overtake or sort of clearance, i had no clue.
But as i managed to look harder through those ICF Sleeper Class Window grills, a very loud honk was heard. Not the loco of 6004, but some other train was approaching from the other side.
As it neared, many people backed off, kids were warned to move away from the edges...... and the chugging was clearly growing louder n louder. It was a WDM-2c or 3A, couldn't make out exaclty, but it was definitely a Baldie, was firing all its cylinders with Guwahati bound Egmore express, least i could see the name properly.
Though not my first sight of a Diesel Loco doing its mps, as i already experienced in 2704 Falaknuma Express in the same month, but watching a train, being hauled a diesel engine, roaring away at good speed, definitely was my first time indeed.

Egmore - Guwahati had a different schedule back in 2000's, which later got changed mostly, as 6003 used to arrive Visakhapatnam around 12.50 and depart at 13.10, whereas 6004 used to arrive around (i guess) at 13.30 and depart at 13.50.

Many people travel daily from HWH, KGP to BAM, PSA, CHE, VZM & VSKP and Viceversa. Though there are many trains from HWH to VSKP but an intercity is missing. We want a new ICE from HWH to VSKP before Train # 12703 Falaknuma Exp as many people take the Dhauli exp from HWH and get down at BBS or KUR take Falaknuma or 11020 Konark Exp to BAM, PSA, CHE, VZM & VSKP. And a parallel train in the reverse direction after Train # 02842 MAS-HWH Prem spl . If that is not possible Train # 12821 Dhauli Exp should be extended to VSKP with slip coaches to PURI.
