the ultimate competition between the Two Passenger Locomotives of Indian Railways!! 5350 hp Conventional Locomotive WAP- 4 versus 6350 hp Three Phase Locomotive WAP-7.
The station Mankar is situated on ER's Shaktigarh- Sitarampur quadruple line stretch. And running on an almost empty slot, the 22387 Howrah (HWH)- Dhanbad (DHN) BLACK DIAMOND Superfast enjoys the privilege of running through the Up Fast line. So after getting the permission to proceed after a scheduled halt, the train gets the freedom to accelerate as fast as possible on the 130 km/hr permitted track.
On first occasion, 30370 HWH WAP- 7 accelerates with the 22 coaches load. And on the second occasion, 22862 HWH WAP- 4 accelerates with the same. So now you conclude whose acceleration is better.

Poor fellow gets dustbathed by thunderstorm!! At 130 km/hr, Duronto creates dust bowl & zips past!!
.
Furious 22375 HWH WAP-4 comes charging through a curve, raises dust at a level crossing, and thunders past Mankar station at flat MPS with the somewhat late running 12260 New Delhi (NDLS)- Sealdah (SDAH) DURONTO Express. Even though it was refreshing for us to see a complete matching DURONTO rake, but it was not the same for a poor fellow, who gets dust bathed by the train at the level crossing.

12260 uses the Sealdah- Asansol- Dhanbad- Gaya- Mughal Sarai- Allahabad- Kanpur- New Delhi route of ER/ ECR/ NCR/ NR.
