Actually Ashokapuram's PF-1 loop line track (which also branches further towards Mysuru's Railway Central Workshop) is extended around 300m after the track switches, towards Chamarajanagar (CMNR) side...meant mainly for the works and duties of railway sleepers. Once I had met the contractor of this depot, he said that it's for the supply of new sleepers and bringing back of old ones, working in railway lines like Mysuru (MYS) - Hassan (HAS) and so on.

(AP) railway station in southern Mysuru, towards Mysuru Junction (MYS).

The loco was in Short Hood Front (SHF) mode, and it's OG cab !! Happy to see the Original cab EMD, despite in a Bleed blue avatar !!!

Also to add, the Ashokapuram Railway station is fully electrified, The Mysuru (MYS) -- Ashokapuram (AP) section ( 6 RKMs ) of the Mysuru - Chamarajanagar Railway line is electrified completely but still no electric loco trials have been done. The CRS was commissioned on March end, but it's again postponed to April probably..
