नए साल के मौके पर रक्षा मंत्रालय की ओर से जोधपुर को दो सौगातें दी गई हैं। डेगाना-राई का बाग रेलवे लाइन दोहरीकरण को सेना ने अनापत्ति प्रमाण पत्र (एनओसी) दे दिया है, जिससे अब अधूरी पड़ी बनाड़-जोधपुर डबल रेल लाइन का कार्य दु्रत गति से हो सकेगा। संभवत: मार्च में यह काम पूरा हो जाएगा।
इसके अलावा जोधपुर-नागौर रोड पर करवड़ स्थित आइआइटी के पास बने ओवर ब्रिज को भी हरी झंडी दे दी गई है।
