The Vande Metro train will start running from DDU to Jhajha via Ara Junction, and from Patna Junction to Sasaram in the next two months. Railways are planning to put the Vande Metro train on track by the end of September or in October. Currently, the train is undergoing trial runs. The East Central Railway is likely to get 20 rakes. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also shared plans to launch this special train on short routes in Parliament on Thursday. A senior officer from Hajipur Railway Zone said that this train could have up to 12 to 16 coaches. Each coach will have seating arrangement similar to the Delhi Metro. No need to reserve tickets for traveling on this train. The Vande Metro will run between several stations within 200 kilometers. Passengers traveling by train will experience a ride similar to a rapid shuttle. While the current passenger train travels at a maximum speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour, the Vande Metro train will have a maximum speed limit of 130 kilometers per hour. This means the journey from Ara to Patna with stops at all stations can be completed in an hour. Currently, the passenger train takes more than two hours to travel from Ara to Patna. With the cooperation of Integral Coach Factory in Chennai and Research Design and Standards Organization in Lucknow, Vande Bharat's rake has been prepared. The train will have first-class and general class facilities. Passengers can avail the GST deduction in both categories. Although the rent has not been decided yet, it is likely to be higher than the current local trains. The special feature is that it runs on tracks without a locomotive engine.
