The train from Patna reaches Dumka but does not extend to Rampurhat. But the Mourakshi First Pressenger and Sealdah Rampurhat MEMU trains have been extended from Rampurhat to Jharkhand. Although Rampurhat is the highest revenue-generating station in this region, there is no dedicated train from Patna/Delhi to Rampurhat, except for the state capital, Kolkata.

Finally electric locomotives have started plying on whole Khana-Pakur route. 27846 LDH WAG-7 hauling a BOBYN rake from Pakur side going towards Rampurhat at a good speed.

Kolkata: Train services between the eastern parts of the country and northern India were badly affected due to the 12-hour Bihar bandh on Friday. While trains that originated from Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand were held up for hours, several of those in the opposite direction arrived late. The corresponding trains had to be rescheduled, causing severe problems for passengers. Services in the Rampurhat-Gumani section in the Howrah division of Eastern Railway were also disrupted after a 12-year-old boy was run over.
“Under Eastern Railway, train services were affected in the Malda and Asansol divisions. The 12024 Dn Patna-Howrah Janshatabdi Express was held up for four hours. The 13050 Dn Amritsar Express was delayed by six hours while the 13133 Up Sealdah-Varanasi Express got stranded for four hours. The 12311 Up Howrah-Kalka Mail that was scheduled to leave Howrah at 7.40 pm, finally started at 10.40 pm on Friday as the corresponding down train was delayed by six hours,” an ER spokesperson said.
In the Rampurhat-Gumani section, people obstructed train movement at the Swadinpur station for nearly two hours on Friday after the death of a child. The boy was apparently trying to run across the tracks when he was run-over by the 12042 Dn New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Shatabdi Express.
