Few updates from my recent trip in 12779 on 13.04.2023.
1. 12779 CC is exactly reversed by SWR except the 2 parcel vans.
2. Spotted 8 brand new LHB coaches consisting of 6 GS and 2 3ACE coaches most probably for Goa express at Kalem.

the bridge outside SVM ready too, ground works at good progress for around 1km, further around 2 kms no works done most probably some land issue, then for around 7kms double line fully laid till Kalem. Regarding electrification the existing line is electrified and on the new line poles are laid. If the work on the middle 2 kms start immediately now the section can be doubled in next 6 months.
4. Kalem to Kulem existing single line already electrified and doubling works have just begun from Kulem railway station.
5. Kulem to Castle Rock no doubling work, but electric poles have been or are being put up at all places except the tunnels.
6. Castle Rock to Tinaighat doubling update: from CLR for around 30% of the section no work but for remaining around 70% ground fully levelled now ballast laying to commence. Electric poles have but put up besides the area levelled for double line. At CLR I think only the mainline is under wires (not fully sure) but other tracks only poles have been put up wiring still left.
7. LD to Kudachi if fully doubled now and Kudachi to Vijaynagar doubling almost done can be commissioned in next 2 to 3 months. could not notice electrification coz of darkness but poles are definitely there entire route could not or did not see the wiring though.
8. Vijaynagar to MRJ doubling going at slower pace compared to Kudachi Vijaynagar. My trip ended at MRJ.

07344 Kulem Vasco passenger with 7 coach ICF rake awaiting crossing of 12741 VSG PNBE SF express at Sankval railway station.

Some facts about the crossing on Wednesday 14th August 2024:

2. Since VSG PF #2 and #3 are occupied by 17322 and 18047 respectively and PF #1 by outgoing 12741 our 07344 has to stranded at Sankval.
3. Sankval has only one platform and one mainline and other 3 tracks are Zuari Industries freight sidings.
4. Our train 07344 arrived Sankval at 18.55 and departed at 19.25 after 12741 had crossed us.
5. 07344 can easily arrive VSG at 19.15 after completing Sankval to Vasco track doubling.
6. A strange thing happened that day out train having scheduled halt at Sankval was halted on the mainline without PF whereas 12741 with no scheduled halt crossed us on the main platform line.
7. Both rakes of Vasco Kulem Vasco passenger trains are with 7 coach ICF rakes no DEMU rakes anymore. Loco link of my train was Pune WDG4D.
This needs to be updated on IRI, CC is 6 GS and 1 SLR in middle.
