currently has only 1 semi high speed track (160kmph) b/w Delhi-Agra.
IR is Far...Far behind from China OR in Modern Rail Technology.
IR is expanding (Doubling, electrifying,LHBfication) based on 130 kmph technology .But the Future is HSR,LHB(life span 25 yrs) manufactured now Will be in IR upto 2045,means IR will use them till 2045 and this create problem for efficient HSR network in India.
MCF Raebareli is going to manufacture 250kmph Aluminum coaches by 2021, which will be future proof for HSR but these LHBs and Vandebharts can go maximum 200 After doing expensive modifications in them.
Currently, IR is making records in manufacturing LHBs and Vandebharts (160 kmph) and feeling proud, but this is not future, future is HSR.
And we also feel happy by seeing this records and LHBfication.
Some people will say that we don't want HSR but we r comfortable with the conventional rail system if it runs at right time(punctual service).
But,I want to tell them IR can't be punctual because of Old signalling systems & 130 kmph technology.
SNCF submitted detailed project report for Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar(450 kms) HSR in 2015-16 projecting cost of 61000 cr Almost half the price of Mumbai-Ahemdabad corridor. This includes 300 kmph capable track, Advance signalling systems and Technology of Rolling stock.
But what happened to this project,we don't know.
Similarly many Routes were proposed but we don't know the progress of work.
In 2009 IR planned to have minimum 4 HRS route of length 2000 kms by 2020 under 'VISION 2020' but its 2019 we didn't see a single track.
HSR plays a very Important role in the development of Economy.so it's very Important us to have a good network of HSR.
I m not saying go directly for 350-380 kmph but IR should go at least for 200kmph.
