The Vijayawada division is witnessing a surge in freight traffic, largely due to the presence of Kakinada and Krishnapatnam ports, and the upcoming four new ports are expected to further increase revenue. Anticipating this growth, the railway has decided to focus on the quadrilateral to ensure seamless connectivity for ports. The Vijayawada-Gudur section is currently undergoing tripling works, almost complete, while the Vijayawada-Duvvada section has a double line with demands for a third. The railway has decided to go a step further and consider a fourth line for both sections, with the FLS currently underway. The project is likely to be approved by the railway board and implemented soon.

Vijayawada division mein freight traffic bahut badh raha hai, mainly Kakinada aur Krishnapatnam ports ki wajah se, aur 4 aur new ports bhi aane wale hain jisse revenue aur bhi badhega. Is growth ko dekhte hue, railway ne port ke liye seamless connectivity ensure karne ke liye quadrilateral pe focus karne ka decision liya hai. Vijayawada-Gudur section pe currently tripling work chal raha hai, jo ki almost complete hai, while Vijayawada-Duvvada section mein double line hai aur third line ki demand hai. Railway ne dono sections ke liye fourth line bhi consider karne ka decision liya hai, jiske liye FLS currently chal raha hai. Project ke railway board se approval milne aur jaldi implement hone ki ummeed hai.

విజయవాడ, మే 17 (ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి) : దేశంలోని అన్ని రైల్వేజోన్ల కంటే రికార్డు స్థాయిలో విజయవాడ డివిజన్‌ ఆదాయం సాధిస్తోంది. దీనిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని రవాణా కార్యకలాపాలను మరింత పెంచటం కోసం రైల్వేబోర్డు కూడా ఈ డివిజన్‌లో రైల్వేలైన్ల విషయంలో డబ్బు ఖర్చు పెట్టడానికి వెనుకాడటం లేదు. ఈ క్రమంలో గోల్డెన్‌ క్వాడ్రలైన్‌ను విస్తరించే దిశగా అడుగులు పడుతున్నాయి. విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్‌లో విజయవాడ-గూడూరు, విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ సెక్షన్లు అతి ముఖ్యమైనవి. విజయవాడ నుంచి నెల్లూరు జిల్లా కనెక్టివిటీకి గూడూరు సెక్షన్‌, విజయవాడ నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం జిల్లా కనెక్టివిటీకి దువ్వాడ సెక్షన్లు కీలకపాత్ర పోషిస్తున్నాయి. ఈ మార్గంలో ఉన్నంత రద్దీ అంతా ఇంతా కాదు. ఈ గోల్డెన్‌ క్వాడ్రలైన్‌ను ఈ సెక్షన్ల నడుమే ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని చూస్తున్నారు.

శరవేగంగా..

సరుకు రవాణా రంగంలో విజయవాడ డివిజన్‌ సత్తా చాటుతోంది. మునుపెన్నడూ సాధించనంత రూ.5,600 కోట్ల పైబడి ఆదాయాన్ని 2023-24 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో సాధించింది. దీనికి ప్రధాన కారణం పోర్టులు ఉండటమే. కాకినాడ పోర్టు, కృష్ణపట్నం పోర్టుల ద్వారా సింహభాగం ఆదాయాన్ని విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్‌ సాధించింది. ఈ రెండు సెక్షన్ల మధ్య కొత్తగా మరో నాలుగు పోర్టుల పనులు కూడా జరుగుతుండటంతో ఈ సంఖ్య మరింత పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. దీనిని దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని పోర్టులకు కనెక్టివిటీ ఏర్పడితే రద్దీ లే కుండా చూసుకోవాల్సిన అంశాలపై రైల్వే ముందుచూపుతో క్వాడ్రలైన్‌పై దృష్టి సారించింది. అందుకే విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ, విజయవాడ-గూడూరు సెక్షన్లను నాలుగు లైన్లుగా అభివృద్ధి చేయాలని నిర్ణయించింది. రైల్వేబోర్డు నుంచి కూడా సానుకూల సంకేతాలు వచ్చినట్టుగా తెలుస్తోంది. విజయవాడ-గూడూరు సెక్షన్‌లో ప్రస్తుతం ట్రిప్లింగ్‌ పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ పనులు దాదాపు పూర్తి కావచ్చాయి. గూడూరు నుంచి చుండూరు వరకు ట్రిప్లింగ్‌ పనులు పూర్తి కావటంతో పాటు ఫంక్షన్‌లోకి కూడా వచ్చింది. చుండూరు నుంచి కృష్ణా కెనాల్‌ జంక్షన్‌ వరకు 30 కిలోమీటర్ల మేర పనులు పురోగతిలో ఉన్నాయి. రానున్న అవసరాల దృష్ట్యా ఈ సెక్షన్‌లో నాల్గోలైన్‌ కూడా ఏర్పాటు చేయాలన్నది రైల్వే అధికారుల ఆలోచన. ఇక విజయవాడ-దువ్వాడ మధ్య ప్రస్తుతం డబ్లింగ్‌ మాత్రమే ఉంది. విజయవాడ నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం వెళ్లే ప్రధానమైన సెక్షన్‌ ఇది. అత్యంత రద్దీగా ఉండే ఈ సెక్షన్‌లో మూడోలైన్‌ పనులు చేపట్టాలని ఎప్పటి నుంచో డిమాండ్‌ వస్తోంది. ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో రైల్వే అధికారులు మూడో లైన్‌తో పాటు నాలుగో లైన్‌ ఆలోచన చేయటం కూడా మంచి విషయం. లొకేషన్‌ సర్వే (ఎఫ్‌ఎల్‌ఎస్‌)ను ప్రస్తుతం రైల్వే చేపడుతోంది. రైల్వేబోర్డు ఆమోదంతో పనులకు శ్రీకారం చుట్టే అవకాశం కనిపిస్తోంది.
