A railway bridge, numbered 94, in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, has developed a crack. Due to this, trains from Chhindwara have been cancelled and two trains have been diverted. The bridge was inspected by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) earlier. The news was published on August 25th, 2024.

Due to a broken railway bridge on the Chhindwara Nagpur rail route, many trains have been cancelled and some have been diverted. The incident disrupted train services between Chhindwara and Nagpur. Several trains, including the Shahdol-Nagpur Express (11202) and the Rewa-NSC Bose Itwari Express (via Chhindwara) (11756), were affected.

The rerouted trains include the Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan-Durg Express, the Korba-Amritsar Chhattisgarh Express, the Amritsar-Korba Chhattisgarh Express, the Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Utkal Express, the Yog Nagari Rishikesh-Puri Utkal Express, and the Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Express. The Gondwana Express will face delays on September 12th, 14th, and 16th, and will be held at Asawati station for 40 minutes on August 29th, 31st, and September 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, and for 45 minutes on September 17th. The Tatnagar-Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Express and the Bhopal-Bilaspur Express are cancelled on August 20th due to a lack of coaches.

Is infrastructure kaam ke complete hone se, train ki speed aur punctuality improve hone ka expectation hai. The ongoing work focuses on sections between Dareksa-Salekusa-Dhanouli, Gudma-Gondia-Ganga-Jhari, and Kamthi-Kalamna. The commissioning of the Kalamna-Kamthi third line is underway. It forms part of the Mumbai-Howrah railway route, connecting two major metropolitan cities. The Kalamna station is undergoing yard modification. This station serves as a crucial link between Nagpur, Itwari, Godhani, Kamthi, and two significant power plants. The project employs approximately 50 engineers and 400 workers from various railway departments. The railway administration asserts that these expansions will enhance the capacity of the Kalamna-Rajnandgaon rail section, easing current traffic congestion.
