This route will offer new transportation options for passengers in Kolhan and various branch lines in Odisha. Tatanagar will serve as the maintenance hub for the Brahmapur Vande Bharat train, with other stations taking over maintenance responsibilities to ensure a dedicated pit line for the train. Two new Vande Bharat train rakes are ready for launch, expected before August 15th. Meanwhile, preparations are underway in Chakradharpur for the launch of Vande Bharat Express trains between Tatanagar and Patna, and Tatanagar and Banaras. The Tatanagar station is also undergoing upgrades to handle Vande Bharat train maintenance, including a new traction system for cleaning and repair of the coaches.

Additionally, the duration of several special trains has been extended to accommodate increasing passenger traffic, including the Santragachhi-Puri, Puri-Santragachhi, Bhanjpur-Puri, Puri-Bhanjpur, Shalimar-Bhanjpur, Bhanjpur-Shalimar, Shalimar-Puri, Puri-Shalimar, Santragachhi-Digha, Digha-Santragachhi, Tatanagar-Varanasi, Varanasi-Tatanagar, Howrah-Yesvantpur, and Yesvantpur-Howrah Specials. authorized the construction of a new maintenance center for Vande Bharat trains at Shalimar. This new center will facilitate the deployment of Vande Bharat trains on other routes. Meanwhile, the Tatanagar washing line number one is being upgraded. Currently, there are 17 Vande Bharat train rakes ready for operation. While the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat train already runs via Tatanagar, new Vande Bharat trains are expected to run from Howrah to Rourkela and Barbil via Tatanagar. The South Eastern Railway Zone has conducted a survey for the potential introduction of Vande Bharat trains on several routes. The train rake for the Tatanagar-Patna route arrived three days ago and is currently stationed at the Chakradharpur Railway Division headquarters. Trial runs will be conducted once the necessary traction facilities are available at the washing line.
