has alerted other units across Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh about a major network of ticket scalpers operating with personal IDs to book tickets on the IRCTC website. They have provided a list of over 1200 suspected scalpers. One such scalper, who used fake letters of parliamentarians to get tickets confirmed, was arrested in Muzaffarpur in April 2023 after a Visakhapatnam RPF investigation. The scalpers are currently offering to secure tickets for people returning from Chhath, which falls in the first week of November, with inflated prices, charging Rs. 5000 for a set of six sleeper class tickets and even more for AC tickets.

The RPF confiscated the marijuana and the two individuals' mobile phones. They were tasked with transporting the contraband from Muzaffarpur to Hajipur. Both individuals were residing in Patna and had arrived at Muzaffarpur Junction on Tuesday morning by bus. The RPF received information about the presence of marijuana in the Maury Express and apprehended the suspects upon its arrival at Bhagwanpur station. The duo was offered 25,000 rupees to transport the marijuana, which was hidden in a red trolley bag under berth number four in coach A1. Their mission was to unload the trolley bag at Hajipur Junction and leave it near the stand for another carrier to take to Patna. The RPF is investigating further to identify the source of the marijuana and the person who placed it on the train.
